7 MONTHS OLD

I know I keep saying this, but it's going by way too fast. I was just thinking about buying baby food and thought, I won't be buying it for much longer. Pretty soon Luke will be walking around, totting a sippy cup full of milk and eating regular food. My baby is growing up too soon!

I took Luke to the doctor on Wednesday to get the rest of his 6 month shots and he weighed 18 lbs. 15 oz. with his clothes and diaper on, so probably closer to 18 1/2 lbs. Still our big boy! I had the doctor check his ears because he has been pulling on them lately, but she said they looked great. His top gum, however, was really swollen and she said that it could make him mess with his ears since the same nerve goes to both areas. He had no problem with his first two bottom teeth, but these top teeth are really bothering him! He has been taking very short naps and is waking up at night. UGH!!!

This month was full of firsts for Luke. First finger foods, first road trip, first trip to SC, first trip to the zoo, first swim in the lake and first boat ride both of which he slept through. He even tried some real food (grits, scrambled eggs and ice cream), which he did not like!

This has been Luke's signature move for awhile now, but I finally got a picture of it!

He's an expert at balancing on his side, but still doesn't have a lot of interest in sitting up on his own. He can do the tripod sit, but would rather just roll over and crawl. He is crawling everywhere!

Since Luke has two bottom teeth and more coming any day now on top, I'm slowly trying to add some "real" food to his diet. He's tried Mum-Mums, biter biscuits and puffs. He's moving from stage 2 to stage 3 organic foods and I'm going to start making some baby food now that our freezer is stocked up on organic mix vegetables, broccoli and green beans. He is eating baby food 3 times a day and is nursing every 3-4 hours.
