BYE BYE PACI!

I have been thinking about getting rid of the pacies for awhile now. I was going to wait and take Lily and Luke's away together, but he rarely uses one, so I decided that today was the day. We have been talking about the Paci Fairy and how she takes pacis to little babies that need them. Then she leaves a present! Lily was all for the present part, so we started out the morning by going on a paci hunt. I only found three, but I'm sure there are lots more that will show up later. I have always been amazed at how Lily can find a paci anywhere!

Lily having one last moment with her pacies.

Luke was very excited about the whole thing. Can't you tell?

We put the pacies in an envelope and Lily decorated it.

Off to the mailbox to mail Lily's pacies to the Paci Fairy!

"Bye Bye Paci!"

Lily went down for her nap at 12:00 and was still awake at 1:30! I let her get up (hoping that she would be extra tired when she went to bed) and check the mailbox for her present. As soon as we opened the door she said, "What's that?" and ran to the mailbox. I took some extra Easter stuff and added it to the Dora panties I bought her.

She was more excited about the little chocolates than her Dora panties. I guess candy wins every time! When Chris got home he brought her a princess balloon. I put Lily to bed early and she cried for about 30 minutes. Oddly enough, she never mentioned her paci, except to tell me to sing a paci song, so I made one up. She cried about being hungry and wanting to play with her balloon outside. She finally passed out from pure exhaustion! Hopefully tomorrow will be a little bit better.

Hang in there, this too shall pass.

That's so funny, Heather. Yes, this too will pass. I don't remember when I took the girls pacis away from them, but I know we didn't think of something as clever as the paci fairy! I think "grandma" (the lady that took care of them while I worked) probably did it for me. Good for you!

Yes, good for you. I'm sure Lily will forget all about them in no time. I had to take the paci away from Bryan and Kimberly too, but I don't remember them dwelling on them for too long. Stick it out. You are doing a fantastic job.
:-) Love, Mimi

I give it two days and it will be all over. When she realizes it's gone to the Paci Fairy it will be fine. When she remembers just talk to her about something else. Chickens, ducks, ice cream or what ever. You're doing everything right, soon only a memory. Love you all,Gmth
