Week 1~
Chris, Lily and I drove to South Carolina on July 2nd. I was a little scared about a long car trip with Lily, but she did really well! No screaming fits until we took the exit for Chris' grandparents house. Maybe she knew we were close! We spent the week at Chris' parents' lake house and just hung out with the family. We swam, took boat rides and Lily and I took long naps together- so nice! Chris' dad gave Lily some swimming lessons and she got really good at kicking her legs. We took Lily for a picnic on a little island on Lake Murray during the week and had lots of fun. Chris spent a lot of time on the new Sea-Doo. He took me for a slower ride, but it was still too fast for me!
Lily did a good job of continuing with the potty training success. I'm rewarding her with mini M&M's and we work on the colors at the same time. We even bought her some big girl panties while we were there. She tried them out and looked so cute.. then she peed and pooped in them! It's a work in progress...
Week 2~
Chris had to go back to work, so my parents, sister and Jackson came for the rest of our vacation. We took a boat trip to another island that we named Shell Island. It had a nice little beach with tiny shells. The kids had fun digging for shells and swimming. The next day we drove to Folly Beach. This was Jackson's first trip to the ocean and he loved it! Lily had so much fun- she couldn't keep her hands out of the sand! We drove into Charleston and ate at Hyman's Sea Food. It was delicious. We walked through the Market and then ended our trip by getting pralines!
That weekend Chris' whole family came out and we had a shrimp boil. Chris' dad took Jackson and Lily out for a ride on the Sea-Doo. Jackson loved it, but I think Lily just wanted to pull the key out. We finished the day with Great-grandma's chocolate pound cake- YUMMY!
Week 3~
We went to Congaree National Park and walked the boardwalk. We saw lots of huge old trees, spiders and lizards! On Monday we met Mimi at the Riversbank Zoo. Lily seemed to really enjoy the animals this time and LOVED sitting on all the benches in the aquarium. We couldn't keep her off them! Note: this is the last time you will see pictures of Lily's Chicco stroller. It came off the top of my car on the way home and was run over! I was so upset! So sad!
We headed out of South Carolina on Wednesday and stopped at the Babyland General Hospital in Georgia. I read about this place and wanted to relive my 80's obsession with Cabbage Patch Kids. It was really cute and I adopted a newborn for Lily. We named her Rose Grace. Lily really likes her. I hope she likes the new baby just as much...
We had such a good time, but were happy to get home and out of the car with two small children!
