LITTLE BIT

Yesterday we went out to check on the goats and noticed that a few goats were missing from the herd that greeted us at the gate. This usually means that they have had a baby, so we started looking around and this little guy was standing on the main trail. I could not believe my eyes! He is the smallest baby goat I have ever seen. He is about half the size of the other kids. After some tail checking (to see which female gave birth recently), we discovered that one of the smaller, younger goats was the mother. I called Chris and he said that this was probably her first which was why it was so small. I still could not believe that it was so small and started wondering if maybe it had been born a little early. Of course I went into Mommy Mode and ran to the farm store to get a bottle and food in case she wasn't feeding it. I wanted to take him home, but I definitely don't need anything else to take care of. After a few hours of watching and making sure that she was letting him nurse, we went home and I worried about him all night. We came back today and found him with a little girl that looks just like him. TWINS!!! We're not sure where she was yesterday because mommy goat usually hide their babies while they go off and eat. The little girl is a bit bigger than the boy, but not much. We named them Bit and Little Bit.

Luke and Nana holding the goat babies. Little Bit and this singleton were born around the same time. Look at the difference!

Bit and Little Bit snuggling after getting their bottoms cleaned. Raising farm animals is not glamorous!

He is so tiny!

Being a good mommy!
Most of the other babies get down on their front legs to eat. These babies can barely reach!

Awwwww!! The new ones are soooo cute with just a little brown on them. That first picture of the baby goat looks like a little stuffed animal. He looks so perfect. Sounds like you have your hands full though with your kids and the "new" kids. :-)
Love, Mimi

O I want to see them so badly. They are adorable, Luke is right there with them. They are so perfect and the mothers know just how to take care of them. Isn't nature wonderful? Only God knew just what to do that each creature would know how to take care of their young, What a Good God we have!!! Love you all, Gmth
