I was hoping that we would just skip past the Terrible Twos, but it has hit our house hard the last few weeks. Lily has yet to really throw a tantrum, but she is definitely testing the waters to see what she can get away with. Her new favorite words are, " No!" and "No, Mommy!". I hear them all day long! For some reason she won't leave the dogs alone and thinks it is funny to chase them around and to throw things at Toby. Poor Toby is not bright and just keeps on coming back for more!
Even though the last few weeks have been tough, Lily always finds ways to make me laugh and does sweet things to make me fall more in love with her everyday. Here are just a few:
~When I say "I love you", she sings, "I love me too". Someone has been watching to much Barney!
~She "rubs" my back when I complain about it hurting.
~She sings to Luke when he cries.
~She fake coughs and then says, "I much better now."
~When I change Luke's poopy diaper, she says, "This not hurt me." like she's trying to convince herself!
~She has tried to breastfeed her baby doll! Like Mommy, like Lily!
~She loves to take off everything but her panties and then find a hat to wear!
Here are some things Lily has been doing this past month:
~She can say about half of her ABCs. If we sing them together, she can get most of them. For some reason she always says eat instead of E. This IS my child!
~She can identify the letter O and knows that the letter B says, "b,b,b".
~She likes to count things, but only counts to 3 on her own and then says 8 and 9.
~She is singing more songs. Her favorites are Twinkle, Twinkle and Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes and Jesus Loves Me.
~She just started retelling stories when we read books together. I was so impressed when she "read" The Very Hungry Caterpillar!
~Lily has learned how to cough into her elbow. What a big girl!
~She is beginning to use pronouns. She is saying, "me", "mes", "mine" and "mines" I'm not sure why she wants to make those words plural!
~Lily knows the colors: blue, red, yellow, purple, green and pink.
~ She can find and name the star and heart on her shape puzzle.
~She can pretty much dress and undress herself, but needs help getting clothes over her head. I guess that's what happens when your daddy has a big head!
Here are her stats:
Weight~ 24.4 lbs. (25th %) Yea! We are up from 7%!
Height~34 1/2 in. (75th %)
Head Cir.~19 in. (75th %)
Some pictures of Lily this past month:

Lily wearing a dress my Grandmother made for my sister when she was 2 yrs. old.
We didn't think Jackson was ever going to wear it, so we let Lily!
A cute picture of Lily, Grandmama and Luke. We miss you Grandmama!

:-) Love, Mimi
Lilly looks like a little dutch girl! So cute!
Owen was 20 months old when I had Ben. Around 22 months, he started acting out. He wasn't really saying no yet, but he was definitely testing the water. I think it was more jealousy than terrible two's for him. Hopefully it'll be the same for Lily! I think at first they are excited and they realize the baby is staying and they start to fight for attention.
I love the 25 month list!
