SKIN WOES, NIGHTMARES & BABY NEWS

Lily wearing Mrs. Mandy's sunglasses. You can see a little bit of her baby bump! She's almost 5 months pregnant.

Last week my mom took Lily to the doctor for a rash she keeps getting. It appears on her cheeks and chin, and is kind of dry and flaky looking. She also has a fine sandpaper rash all over. The doctor's diagnosis was eczema! I didn't really think it was because it is not as bad as all the pictures I see on websites, but basically eczema is what they come up with when something is irritating the skin. So, we have to change shampoo and lotions, (no more Baby Burt's- Boo!) cut back on bath time (only 10 minutes!), and change our detergent. I was surprised to see that Dreft is not hypoallergenic, so we are looking for another one. Hopefully all this will help her skin.
Another change lately is Lily aversion to going to bed. It seems like she just figured out last week that when we take her to her room to read a book that it's bedtime and she is not happy about it! She has thrown little temper tantrums the last few nights- screaming, arching her back and rolling all over! I had to keep myself from laughing because it was so ridiculous. She has never done this before, but I see the Terrible Two's coming.
I go to my second appointment on Tuesday and we will be able to hear the baby's heartbeat. I'm still sick all day and have lost a little over 10 lbs. Unfortunately I will be gaining that all back and much more over the next 6 1/2 months.

Poor little thing. Andy had eczema when he was little too. I had to change the soap that I was using to bathe him with. I know that sweet little grandbaby cannot be showing herself before bedtime. In all her pictures she looks like a little Angel. I hope you start feeling better soon Heather. I know it will be exciting to hear the baby's heartbeat at your next doctor's appointment. :-)
Love, Merry

Don't worry about the bedtime, she is testing you, when she realizes you are in charge it will pass. Just wait til grandmother gets there I will help. Hope your sickness will pass soon. I know that is miserable. Love you all, Grandmother
